Prof. Huiling Zhao

Ms. Zhao Huiling, senior engineer at professor level, is now the Chairperson of Network and Service Capability Technical Committee of China Communication Standardization Association (CCSA), the Chairperson of the Information Communication Network Technology Committee of CIC, and deputy director of Technical Committee of SDN /NFV /AI Industry Alliance. She used to be the President of China Telecom Cloud Computing Research Center, Vice President of China Telecom Beijing Research Institute. Ms. Zhao specializes in the research on telecom network. She has won many prizes of sci-tech programs at national and ministerial levels. She authored 12 technical books and published more than 100 technical papers. |

Dr. Xiang Liu
|
Dr. Xiang Liu is Vice President of Optical Technologies, Transport and Access Research at Futurewei Technologies, USA. He has more than 20 years of experience in the optical communication industry. At Huawei, he is responsible for advanced optical technologies and industry development for the transmission and access network product line. Before joining Huawei, Dr. Liu had been with Bell Labs working on high-speed optical transmission technologies for 14 years. He has a Ph.D. degree in applied physics from Cornell University. Dr. Liu has authored over 340 publications and holds over 90 US patents. He has served as a General Co-Chair of OFC 2018, and is currently serving as a Deputy Editor of Optics Express, a Co-Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine’s Optical Communications Series, and an Executive Committee member of the IEEE ON2020 industry connection activity. Dr. Liu is a Fellow of the IEEE and the OSA. |

Dr. Tao Sun
|
Dr. Sun Tao got the B.S. degree on Automation in 2003, and Ph.D. degree on Control Science and Engineering in 2008, both from Tsinghua University, China. He currently is leading the research and standardization of the mobile network architecture and service evolution. He worked on directions such as network slicing, 5G capabilities enablement for verticals, introducing AI to network and new IP technologies. He has more than 10 years of experience on Mobile network standardization work. He has served as (co-)Rapporteurs of several 3GPP Study/Work items such as Local IP Access, IPv6 Migration, Flexible Mobile Service Steering, Next Generation Network Architecture Study, and 5G System Architecture. He is one of the main contributor proposed the service-based architecture (SBA) for 5G. |

Dr. Yu-Dong Yao
|
Dr. Yu-Dong Yao has been with Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, since 2000 and served as a Department Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2007 to 2018. Previously, from 1989 to 2000, Dr. Yao worked for Carleton University, Ottawa, Spar Aerospace Ltd., Montreal, and Qualcomm Inc., San Diego. His research interests include wireless communications, cognitive radio, and machine learning and deep learning. He holds one Chinese patent and thirteen U.S. patents. Dr. Yao was an Associate Editor of IEEE Communications Letters (2000-2008) and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (2001-2006), and an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (2001-2005). For his contributions to wireless communications systems, he was elected a Fellow of IEEE (2011), National Academy of Inventors (2015), and Canadian Academy of Engineering (2017). In 2018, he received an honorary degree, Master of Engineering (Honoris Causa), from Stevens Institute of Technology. He received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing, China, in 1982 and 1985, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 1988, all in electrical engineering. |

Dr. Zhisheng Niu
|
Zhisheng Niu graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 1985, and got his M.E. and D.E. degrees from Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan, in 1989 and 1992, respectively. During 1992-94, he worked for Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Japan, and in 1994 joined with Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, where he is now a professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering. He was a Visiting Researcher of National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (NICT), Japan (10/1995 – 02/1996), Hitachi Central Research Laboratory, Japan (02/1997 – 02/1998), Polytechnic University of New York, USA (01/2002 – 02/2002), University of Hamburg, Germany (09/2014 – 10/2014), and University of Southern California, USA (11/2014-12/2014). His major research interests include queueing theory and traffic engineering, wireless communications and mobile Internet, vehicular communications and smart networking, and green communication and networks. Dr. Niu has served as Chair of Emerging Technologies Committee (2014-15), Director for Conference Publications (2010-11), and Director for Asia-Pacific Board (2008-09) in IEEE Communication Society, and currently serving as Director for Online Contents (2018-19) and Area Editor of IEEE Trans. Green Commun. & Networks. He received the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from Natural Science Foundation of China in 2009, Best Paper Award from IEEE Communication Society Asia-Pacific Board in 2013, and 2018 Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award from IEEE Communications Society Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee. He was also selected as a distinguished lecturer of IEEE Communication Society (2012-15) as well as IEEE Vehicular Technologies Society (2014-18). He is a fellow of both IEEE and IEICE. |

Dr. Li-Chun Wang
|
Li-Chun Wang (M'96 -- SM'06 -- F'11) received Ph. D. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 1996. From 1996 to 2000, he was with AT&T Laboratories, where he was a Senior Technical Staff Member in the Wireless Communications Research Department. Since August 2000, he has joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan and is jointly appointed by Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering of the same university. Dr. Wang was elected to the IEEE Fellow in 2011 for his contributions to cellular architectures and radio resource management in wireless networks. He won the Distinguished Research Award of National Science Council, Taiwan (2012). He was the co-recipients of IEEE Communications Society Asia-Pacific Board Best Award (2015), Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Paper Award (2013), and IEEE Jack Neubauer Best Paper Award (1997). His current research interests are in the areas of software-defined mobile networks, heterogeneous networks, and data-driven intelligent wireless communications. He holds 23 US patents, and have published over 300 journal and conference papers, and co-edited a book, “Key Technologies for 5G Wireless Systems,” (Cambridge University Press 2017). |

Dr. Kevin Lu

Dr. Kevin W. Lu is a teaching professor of electrical and computer engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. He teaches the internet of things, digital system design, and engineering design. He is a member of the IEEE Standards Association Standards Board, Audit Committee, New Standards Committee, and Standards Education Committee; and chair of Industry Connections Committee. He was a chief scientist and executive director at Telcordia. He received B.S. in control engineering from National Chiao Tung University, and M.S. and D.Sc. in systems science and mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis. |
Dr. Zesong Fei

Zesong Fei (M’07-SM’16) received the B.Eng. degree in electronic engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from BIT, China, in 2004. He is currently a Professor with the Research Institute of Communication Technology (RICT) of BIT. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Visiting Scholar with the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. His main research interests include error control coding, physical-layer security, cooperative communications and networking, and quality of experience. Dr. Fei has published over 50 papers in the IEEE journals. He served as a Lead Guest Editor for the Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing and the China Communications, Special Issue on Error Control Coding. He is the senior member of Chinese Institute of Electronics and China Institute of Communications. |

Dr. Yejun He

Yejun He (heyejun@126.com) is a full professor with the College of Electronics and Information Engineering, Shenzhen University, China, where He is the Director of Guangdong Engineering Research Center of Base Station Antennas and Propagation, and the Director of Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Antennas and Propagation, Shenzhen. He has authored or coauthored more than 140 research papers and books (chapters) and holds 20 patents. His research interests include wireless mobile communication, antennas and radio frequency. Prof. He received the Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China, in 2005. From 2005 to 2006, he was a Research Associate with the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. From 2006 to 2007, he was a Research Associate with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. In 2012, he was a Visiting Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada. From 2013 to 2015, he was an Advanced Visiting Scholar (Visiting Professor) with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. Dr. He is serving as Associate Editor of IEEE Network, IEEE Access, International Journal of Communication Systems. Dr. Lijun Dong is a Senior Staff Researcher at Huawei’s Future Networks and Innovation Group in USA. She has broad and in-depth researches in the areas of Internet of Things, Machine-to-Machine communications, Information-Centric Networking and Future Internet Architecture for more than a decade. She has served for many international conferences: publicity chair of CSCN 2016, TPC co-chair of ICNC 2017, TPC member of Globecom 2011, ICNC 2012, ICNC 2013, iThings 2013, ISCC 2017 and 2018, HiPNet 2018. She is one of the board members of the WOCC conference. She has been an active and influential contributor, and responsible for internal strategy development and execution for standards, including oneM2M, IETF, 3GPP and ITU. She is the major inventor to 20+ granted patents. She has 40+ publications and several book chapters. |

Dr. Jen-Yeu Chen
|
Dr. Chen obtained his PhD from School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University, USA. Prior to his PhD study, he was with Chunghwa Telecom Laboratories, CHTL, Taiwan. He is a 3GPP regular meeting delegate by the collaboration with ITRI, Taiwan. In particular, in recent years, he focuses on machine learning, optimization, decision and control problems for effective and energy-efficient designs in next generation wireless communication systems. He has developed energy-efficient and computing-effective protocols/algorithms for next generation IoT applications. He is also developing practical AIoT systems to solve real-life problems. Some other problems he tackled were data aggregation/fusion, distributed consensus, power control, scheduling and synchronization in wireless ad hoc networks, intrusion detection in a large scale wireless sensor network, and coordinated probabilistic map construction by the mobile robotic sensor network. |

Dr. Li Pei
|
Li Pei, Professor of Beijing Jiaotong University, her current research interests include high speed optical telecommunication network, optical fiber sensor, ROF, key technology of optical fiber communication and so on. She has been a leader of more than 10 projects in China, include National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar, Hi-Tech research and Development Program of China, New Century Excellent Talents Project of Ministry of Education, and so on. She has authored/co-authored more than 200 journal and conference papers, and more than 100 patents and software copyrights in her research field. |

Dr. Xiaodong Xu

Xiaodong Xu received his Ph.D. degrees in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) in 2007. He is currently a professor of BUPT. He has coauthored nine books and more than 120 journal and conference papers. He is the inventor or co-inventor of 39 granted patents. He also attends the standard work for mobile communication system with 3GPP. More than 100 proposals have been submitted and 23 proposals are adopted into 6 technical standards. His research interests cover ultra-dense heterogeneous networks, moving networks, D2D, mobile edge computing, offloading and caching. He is an associate editor of IEEE ACCESS. Dr. Bob Li
|
Bob Li currently serves as Distinguished University Professor at Univ. of Electronic S&T of China. He is the founder of Network coding theory, Algebraic switching theory, and Martingales of patterns. His expertise is in bridging mathematics and engineering. The recent book “Random Kingdom” in 2017 starts a new model of scientific education. Prof. Li received PhD in Math from UC Berkeley in 1974. He taught at MIT and at UI Chicago in 1974-79 and then worked at Bell Labs/Bellcore for a decade. In 1989-2014 he was a chair professor of Information Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and also served as a Professor of Math (by courtesy) as well as a founding Director of Institute of Network Coding. Now a professor emeritus of CUHK, he is also a lifetime Honorary Professor at Xidian Univ., Harbin Univ. of Engineering, UESTC, Southwest Jiaotong Univ. and Xiamen Univ. He also serves as the Great Master of Science of China's "IGAT 111 Program" Advanced Intelligence and Network Services Base. Prof. Li holds 33 US patents and is decorated with Chinese Institute of Electronics 2017 Overseas Outstanding Chinese Scientists Award, 2016 IEEE Sumner Award, IEEE Information Theory Society 2015 Paper Award, and four Outstanding Patent Awards from ITRI of Taiwan. |

Dr. Changyuan Yu

Dr. Changyuan YU received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, USA in 2005. He was a visiting researcher at NEC Labs America in Princeton, USA in 2005. He then joined the faculty of National University of Singapore (NUS) in 12/2005, where he served as the founding leader of Photonic System Research Group in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was also a joint senior scientist with Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore. In 12/2015, he joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a tenured associate professor in Department of Electronic and Information Engineering. And he also continues as an adjunct associate professor of NUS. His research focuses on photonic devices, subsystems, optical fiber communication and sensor systems, and biomedical instruments. As the PI/co-PI, he secured over 5 million US dollars grants, and supervised 10+ postdocs and 20+ PhD students. He has authored/co-authored 1 US patent, 6 book chapters, 400+ journal and conference papers (75 invited, including OFC2012 in USA). His group won 6 best paper awards in conferences and the championship in biomedical area in the 3rd China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2014. |
